The Practical Driving Test - Lessons from AM Driving Tuition
Within 2 years of passing the theory test you must pass the
practical test. If not you will have to retake your theory!
The Test
You must drive safely, comply with road and traffic signs,
with due regard for other road users, demonstrating your thorough
knowledge of the ‘Highway Code’.
You will be asked to complete some set exercises e.g. manoeuvres
including reversing, emergency stops etc.
All examiners are trained to assess all candidates in the
same way. The test route you will be taken on is selected
from routes that are designed to reflect typical road and
traffic conditions. The standard learner test is approximately
40mins long ( If you are retaking your test due to a conviction
it will last approximately 70 mins)
Before you set off on your driving test your examiner will
ask you two vehicle safety questions - these can be found
on the DSA website.
